I've been an amateur puzzler for 30 years or so, and a professional one at Puzzler Media for 12. I started as an editorial assistant, and have worked on titles ranging from Puzzle Compendium to Puzzler Brain Trainer.

I can't remember a time when I've not enjoyed puzzles. At primary school, there was nothing so appealing as sitting down and working my way through dozens of arithmetic questions – honestly! I'm fond of logic puzzles, but I don't think anything can beat a good cryptic crossword – funny, engaging, satisfying and a challenge.

Away from work, I spend a lot of time travelling around the country, I spend a lot of money on reading and I enjoy live entertainment of all kinds. I manage to fit in a bit of voluntary and charity work when I'm not catching up on sleep.
