A minor puzzle based on a familiar challenge. A list of words, each to be changed into a different word by adding or removing a letter. The letters added or removed form a new word or phrase that is clued in the introduction.

Most of the listed words could form new words if a letter was removed, or a letter added. For the puzzle to be interest, the clue must be abstruse.

Instructions:

Without changing the order of the letters, add or remove one letter each time to form a new word. Put the added or removed letters in their respective boxes to spell out a word defined in the puzzle’s introduction.
