Wild Words
Also known as:
Dingbats, Phrase Maze
This visual puzzle is derived from a popular board game devised by Paul Sellers in 2001, called Dingbats. A well-known phrase is illustrated by a cryptic picture created from a particular arrangement of a word, or words. Solving the puzzle depends on an ability to think laterally. For example, HCTIWS is SWITCH backwards, so the answer is SWITCHBACK. There is a certain skill in setting these puzzles, to avoid ambiguity. For example, TIMETIME could mean two-time or time after time.
